Influenza can be spread rapidly and may lead to serious complications. For better protection, children should receive influenza vaccine before the onset of the flu season. Seasonal influenza vaccines are safe and effective and can be given to children from 6 months old.

Rapid Test for Detecting Influenza A and B

HKMC Paediatric Centre has recently introduced a rapid test for detecting Influenza A and B. This rapid test is revolutionary in that it provides accurate, molecular results in less than 15 minutes.  On obtaining a positive result, our paediatrician can test and treat the attending child in a single consultation. Early intervention is always advised.
