What is lung cancer

Lung cancer can be divided into two main categories, namely small cell lung cancer and non-small cell lung cancer. Lung cancer affects lung function so that oxygen cannot be delivered to organs of the body normally.

Risk factors

Smoking or inhaling second-hand smoke, air pollution, inhaling radon, exposure to chemicals (e.g. asbestos, arsenic, chromium, etc.), family history, etc.

Common symptoms

Persistent cough, sputum with blood, pain during coughing or deep breathing, loss of appetite, weight loss, etc.

Chest X-ray, bronchoscopy, mediastinoscopy, sputum cell examination, lung biopsy, computed tomography, etc.

Treatment methods

Surgical resection, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy, etc., and medication relieving patients' discomfort caused by cancer or treatment.
